Major Accomplishments

In October 1999 SPEATBC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Association of Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) to promote engineering profession in society at large. At the annual dinner on January 21, 2000, another Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists of British Columbia (APEGBC)

Further meetings were held with APEGBC at their office and SPEATBC were offered an “Immigrant Engineer Package”. This was in a form of a seminar and to assist SPEATBC directors in guiding new immigrant engineer members. SPEATBC Executive members, for the first time were interviewed on T.V. channel.
