        1) Project Manager – Structural Design

The ideal person will have demonstrated success managing the delivery of large structural engineering projects. Their project management skill will be matched with excellent technical knowledge.

        Responsibilities

        • Manage project teams, resources & schedules
        • Technical lead on building design projects – commercial and public infrastructure
        • Manage client relationships and build on our partnerships with other design firms
        • Monitor and ensure quality control and manage the risk on projects
        • Generate innovative designs for buildings using a range of materials/systems
        • Provide technical direction and peer review deliverables of team members
        • Accountable for the financial management for projects – budgets and billings
        • Contribute to our practice and our knowledge management systems
        • Build upon the firm’s reputation and ability to generate new business/work

        Qualifications

        • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Applied Sciences. A Master’s degree is preferred.
        • P.Eng preferred for Canadian applicants.
        • Minimum of 10 – 15 years working in a consulting engineering firm with a focus on building design
        • Proven experience managing large structural projects and managing design teams
        • Extensive structural design and modeling experience – SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE
        • Experience working with iconic structures is considered an asset
        • Exceptional communication skills required

        Compensation for this position is $90-115k based on experience.

            Intermediate Engineer – Building Science & Restoration Engineering

            We are working for a leader in the consulting engineering industry, with a focus on buildings. The company is multi-faceted in its expertise – structural, building science, green planning and audits. They are seeking an experienced Intermediate Engineer/Technologist in Calgary to join their Building Science & Restoration team. The person will become an integral part of their Building Restoration practice and responsible for delivering projects primarily focusing on building design, restoration and audit.

            Responsibilities

            • Manage project teams delivering consulting engineering services to clients
            • Conduct building investigations and field reviews to determine repair alternatives
            • Prepare project proposals, investigation reports, and engineering specifications
            • Provide technical expertise to clients and project teams throughout repair/designs
            • Coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplines
            • Manage the contract administration & quality control on projects
            • Responsible for the financial management of projects (budgeting and billing)
            • Make contributions to knowledge management and practice systems
            • Contribute to the firm’s reputation in the market and maintain client base
            • Integrate, coach and develop employees

            Qualifications

            • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a Diploma in Architectural Tech.
            • A P.Eng or CET designation is required
            • Minimum 5 years of experience in a consulting engineering/contracting environment
            • Strong project management and client development skills
            • Proven ability to provide strategic and technical leadership to clients and teams
            • Ability to quickly identify and understand business issues and opportunities
            • Strong industry reputation and proven client development ability
            • A team player amongst energetic, successful people
            • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
            • Personal commitment to promoting green issues or sustainability

            Compensation for this position is $70-90K based on experience.
